I would have tried getting a close up of just his face and front of his wings

Hi YPD, nice to see you out of the closet as it were

Personally I think it would have helped the composition if the bird had a little space to fly into on the left-hand side of the pic.
However, that said, stunning light you have caught on those wings, really brings out the beautiful shades of the feathers ... and one of my fave birds too!

I know what you mean about having a bit more space to the left but there was a bloody great goose there, hence the squarish crop.
