Hey guys and I can get milo (my jackrustle) to sit/lay and look at the camera and get a shoot I'm happy with but I'd like to get some of him (or any animal) in an action/running pic, any tip or set up tips?
Patience and lots of it. Have not really much experience of shooting dogs, OMG that sounds bad. Have taken some shots of my brothers dog but he was very obedient. I would get someone to take him on his regular walk and get them to play with the dog to the point where he takes no notice of you. Throw a ball to fetch ect, towards you, so he is running straight at cam.
I would use the 70-300,get some has he is running back to you!
You need a fast shutter speed 1/500th ish to freeze the movement!
Continuous focus and burst mode!
when i used to take photos of grasstrack racing and motocross i used a slow speed and panning shots cant remember the settings because i use digital now aint used 35mm for a long time but last time i was using my dads olympus with the long lens he had
