Nice image, but there is a bit of a halo around the foreground rocks, HDR?

I dont recognise this part of Saltcoats?

Nope, not a halo, just reflections. It has been processed though with some highlights and shadows work, as well as some dodging and burning as the rocks were quite dark in the original. I may have overlapped with the dodge tool, which would give a halo effect.(y)

I do use HDR and tone map quite a bit of my work, for which I make no excuses if it can save an image.
 
Oh, it's up by the leisure centrery bit.
 
Nice composition but the processing has given the rocks particularly that radioactive hdr look I just don't like. As long as you like it that is all that matters really :)

I will have another go at processing it and try to give it the natural look.:)

Yep, I think so, there's a kiddies' castle type structure right on the sea wall.


Have to say, it's very refreshing to hear the 'as long as you like it, that's what counts' approach.(y) I will still try and improve it though.:)

That's much better. Less of a 'glow' from the foreground rocks.

Now's the time to try it, with these fab sunsets we are getting over the Firth just now.:)
