went to the local match today (boxing day) with my 1D mkIII and sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 which has a front focusing problem, took it anyway to see how bad it will be. This is the 1st time i have used both the camera and lens so a lot of learning will be needed.

if you ahve a MKIII then you can set the focus yourself and fix the front focus problem

Was thinking exactly the same although it does depend on the extent of the mis focussing.

true... if cant set yourself then contact sigmaUK .. I had a 120-300 and I have to say sigma where great with me.. very helpful.. happy to explain everything and did jobs withing the times they stated.. not such a scary experience at all. but to have mine calibrated they needed the lens and camera.... so fingers crossed you can figure out how in the mkIII

i have set it to 20 on the backfocus and it is still a problem, just not as bad now, lol. i am going to give them a ring to see if i can pop it into them but they will probably be closed over the holiday season. Just have to say the mkIII is awesome at 3200iso, the ones from my 40D were unusable.
