Shooting in Snow

I thought you lot said it was a glamorous life......

At the Buxton v Matlock derby on Boxing day the weather was frankly pants!
Swirling then driving snow meant it didn't matter where I sat I still got bloody covered.
I use a uv filter on my 70-200 just to afford the glass a bit of protection.
However when I tried to clean it of snow I think I may have generated a bit of heat and caused condensation inside the filter.
Anyone else had this problem before?
The filter was on tightly (and lens hood on obviously) so that's the only thing I can think of?
I did eventually manage to get the filter off, with frozen fingers (in spite of wearing gloves lol) and just shot without it.
Ps really pleased with no3 as it was the equaliser and his 19th of the season.

A combination of snow and/or condensation stuffed this shot up.

Ahh the glamour!!

from what? don't you ahve a lens hood on? how are you expecting to damage the glass? and only enough where it damages the filter and not the main glass? I would suggest you dump the filter... waste of time sticking a bit of glass over an expensive lens.. i tried a uv on my new 70-200 and my 17-40. both deteriorated at the longest end...

Just paranoid about accidentally scratching it, although I've never come close to it.
It's a lesson learned!!

If the game had gone on for another 20 mins it might have looked like yours Gary. But at least they're having a cuddle to keep warm ;0)
Ps love my RL, no rolling about, if you're hurt.....you're properly hurt!!
