I went back in search of the owls again today....

It was attracted by my magnetic personality.

On the other hand it could have been pure luck !

All you need is a telegraph pole photoshopping in "watch out for that telegaph pole!"

In all honesty this looks like a fake.
The whole owl looks very wrong in relation to the rest of the picture and looks as though its a cut and paste job,

I think it looks like that because it's slightly oversharpened and halos have begun to form, also it's a narrow DOF (f5.6) making everything around it very OOF.

To be honest who cares if it is - still a great shot :D

I can assure you that is NOT faked ! - Very heavilly cropped, but not faked.
 
It looks way over sharpened, ruins the image. Nice shot though would like to see the original.
