Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG Macro Problem - Sending back to Sigma

It's proper shafted :(

The lens is stuck in af so the problem is it wont let me manually focus at all.

The focus ring will spin and spin but the lens doesn't move or focus.

Is this a common problem with this lens?

Also, has anyone had any problems with returning things to Sigma? Long delays etc?

Lens is less than 12 months old too!:bang::bang::bang:
 
I presume you have pulled the focus ring back (switching from AF to M). If not the focus ring does just spin and spin. Failing that I am not too sure, generally heard good things about sigma servicing.

whats the chances of something being behind the ring to stop it pulling back?

ahhh, i see... thats all I could think it would be. How hard have you tried pulling it back, will be a shame to pay Sigma £70-odd + postage just to remove some grit or something.
 
not been pulling back too hard as i fear it will break and i mess my warranty up

yeah its covered :)
 
If it's under warranty beast it a little, it's made for it and should do exactly what it says on the tin :naughty:
 
Yep.

I had the same problem, but that was due to my carelessness, and i damaged the lens.

£72 later, and two weeks later, the lens was back in my hands in working condition again.
