Yes
Just about to take the plunge 7d wise and have gaping hole in my lens arsenal.
I have a 18 to 50 F2.8 with macro Sigma and a 120 to 400 F 4.5/F5.6 Sigma.
Im into wildlife, landscapes, macro (everything but portraits really).

What I want to know is would you go for the 70 to 200mm which has had rave reviews in WDC and leave a small gap of 20mm in the middle, or go with the 50mm to 150mm which hasnt been reviewed yet. Help

Both are decent lenses....

In reality the 'gap' of 20mm is minimal and unlikely to affect any photo opportunities. I predominantly take people pictures so the 50-150mm would be a better option for me.

Isnt the 70-200 a macro lens?

for the 20mm you will miss out...take one step forward:LOL:

This is a very valid point. Don't get hung up on gaps in your coverage, most of the time they are not worth worrying about!

Both lenses get good reviews, but another factor to consider is that the 50 150 will only work on crop cameras and not on full-frame cameras whereas the 70 200 will work on both.

So if you ever intend to upgrade to a full-frame camera you could keep the 70 200 but not the 50 150.

Here is a review of the 50 150 (on Nikon) by the way:

Thanks guys, looks like it's the 70 to 200 then. (y)
