sigma vs tamron

I have a sigma 18-50 non os 2.8 lens and debating to get the newer tamron 17-50 2.8 but will i gain anything other then a slightly wider angle. Also does the tamron af have a faster af in low light than the sigma. My body is a d300

You could look on dyxum, but I would of thought not much difference

Buy a sigma dp if you want more sharpness and detail... would be around 2 or 3 times as sharp easily

I had the original Sigma 18-50mm and swapped to the Tamron due to all the great reviews. To be honest, apart from being marginally wider, there was no real difference in quality (they're both excellent) and I was never that happy with the low light focusing of the Tamron on Canon cameras.
