You do seem to manage a different look in every photo - I actually think the best is the 3rd one in you second lot (the sepia one). It looks dark and moody!
 
For some reason, just cant decide why I like this one the best
I think its just the expression and your eye's :)

have you got a tripod? you could set up the timer, sit infront of a window facing out for some better light too
 
no tripod as of yet matty, but i do rest it on my window sill and put on timer.

I was holding the camera above me on that one and looking up!
