Two good compositions, for me the second is more successful because it has more contrast and brings out more texture on the squashes. Slight nit-pick is that I am not convinced by the steam from the coffee pot and wonder if that was necessary.

Thanks for the feedback Chris, I must say I umm'd and ahh'd about the steam in the second shot. I had been trying to get exposure while capturing the first images candle smoke half the evening and when I set up the second it just looked plain so cheekily added it in post. Glad you pointed it out as I was really on the fence as to if it worked or not.

For me it was the fact that the Coffee Pot was steaming, but the Hot Chocolate Wasn't... Either both, or Neither would probably work better IMO
