As far as I can tell this spider is moulting. I took the shot last month.

I think you are right looks exactly like one I saw on my garden tap. Wish I shot it now as it was just like 2 spiders hanging together.

Great find Alf and good shot.
 
Wow cool find. You can see how it's pulled it's legs out of the old skin and flipped backwards until the new one dries. Nice one!
 
Thanks all glad you like it. I was struggling to get the shot as I didnt have my flash and diffuser with me. Lickily I had time to persevere.
 
Yes moulting it's skin and growing before the new skin hardens. A fascinating act captured, well done Alf. ;)
