Hey guys,

I went out this morning to take some photos of a local church in the mist but ended up getting distracted by these spiderwebs. I've never shot spiderwebs before and haven't used my macro lens as much as I should so I found it really fun. One thing I've learned is to try and get the sensor parallel with the web if shooting wide open!

Any comments or critiques are appreciated :)

Of them all, I prefer the last square cropped image. I like that there's some surrounding foliage to add interest. The colour of the leaves is great too, as is the detail on the dew. The light area and the oof stick/stem is a wee bit distracting but it's still a very nice image. And you learnt something too :)

Interesting set.

It's getting to that time of year now with the early frost / dew

As you say getting square on is key if you're using wide aperture / shallow dof.

Shooting at an angle and getting the web to disappear out of the depth of focus can also produce interesting results.

The last two would be my pick of the bunch due to the dew beads.
