The IQ of the Tamron 70-200 SP DI LD is excellent for the price, possibly level or even beating the Nikon. It has been said that its AF leaves a bit to be desired as it's slower and more noisy than the Nikon or Sigma 70-200. The build quality is more plasticky than the Nikon 70-200VR
My Flicker sets. The insects are using the macro end and the Burgie horse trials and Motocross sets were all taken with the Tamron. Whilst the Speyside stages are using the Nikon 70-200 VR f2.8
