Test shot with Kenko 1.4 DGX

Not a bad shot with that combo, the chest area is sharpest so I'm guessing that was the point of focus

Hi Jeff,

composition is dead centre ….. which is usually not recommended - If you use LR and go into the Develop module - Tools - Crop Guide overlay you can see a few alternative suggestions for composition, but the "classic" one for that shot would be more space to the right and above

just grabbed this quickly from the net

http://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/lightroom-crop-overlays

use letter "O" to cycle through the options - these are just suggestions to guide and try out - not definite "must do's"

It looks over sharpened and over saturated to my eye ….. over sharpening also effects (darkens/brings in black) colours

also maybe too much bird and not enough background …….. give the little thing more space

A quick simple test with your new x1.4TC is to take the same shot without the TC and crop both to the "same" actual bird size and then compare them …… if you see what I mean

Hope this helps
