After a night of heavy rain this forest river was in good flow.
Use of a polariser to limit glare and also to slow the shutter speed - 1.6s

The image doesn't do much for me I'm afraid. There's nothing in the picture to interest me and the long exposure has made the water look a bit odd without the suggestion of movement.

You would need the water to lead towards a bridge, mill, waterfall or something to begin to make a picture like this work IMO.

I totally understand your point about lack of a focal point. I thought it was an enchanting looking scene which inspired me to take a shot.
