Critique The weather never quite got me today

I do like the second image Peter a really vast landscape captured well.
 
I like the muted colours in no.2. For me personally there is too much going on in no.1 to make it effective as a black and white - do you have it in colour?
 
I didn't really think the colour version worked. I'll post a copy here tonight and you can see for yourself. In particular, the brown vegetation in the foreground was a bit messy.
 
I like #1, the solitary stunted tree in a wide landscape, together with a really lovely sky with all those different cloud levels.
 
No1 in mono for me with a cracking sky. The fence does distract a little but still a good photo.

I actually think I prefer no.1 in colour but if we liked the same things the world would be so boring. That just goes to show there is no right or wrong in photography, just personal preferences. I think they are both great shots by the way.
