Tower bridge monochrome

Had an opportunity a couple of weeks back to get a shot of Tower Bridge from HMS President (shore base).
I thought the monochrome conversion would suit, but I can't put my finger on what's not right. Too dark in the shadows, the distortion?

Thoughts?

It's certainly got potential, I personally would try with more of a red filter to darken the sky up and give it a touch more contrast.

Distortion is certainly distracting ... I agree a touch more contrast would help too

Agree on the distortion and also (perhaps a reshoot?) a little more space between the shard and the bridge to give them some separation.

A bit more space would have been hard, I was already over as far as possibly on the deck, but I know what you mean.
