Hi all,

I took this on the way home from work today. Unfortunately not the ideal time of day but I quite like the composition even if a little central. What do you think of the conversion and composition, do they work or am I misguided!

Great tones and great feeling of depth to this, a very dramatic sky.

The composition is good, as is the tonal range, but the structure has been pushed way to high.

Yes, too much structure in the sky particularly. You have also lost some of the blacks in the foreground rocks. On the compo front the big rock needed to be pulled away from the edge of the rh frame.

The composition fills the frame, but the processing is very severe and B&W is not a medium to hide up bad lighting, it still shows....

Nothing wrong with the location, but you need to go back in the morning/evening at this spot

Thanks all. Will try to reduce the structure. Agree on time if day, will try earlier, but it's an 8 hour round trip to the office, so,often hard to get right.
