Hi Matt, great set and think it is a long nose weevil, Hylobius congener what a great find and capture.

I really like that first one. Love the composition and the subdued colours. The weevil's adopted quite a contemplative pose and the light has caught him nicely.

Very good. I like the subject's pose in both of these.

Is that as much as you have got on the left hand side and bottom? I've been thinking about alternative crops, maybe taking some (possibly quite a lot) off the top and right, but it would still leave it a bit "left sided". Given that, perhaps it's best like you have done it, with a feeling of it being in a big open space.

I like the second one best but wonder if it would of been better getting the critter off centre

Not sure on this one Matt, squat little chap isn't he. Super photos of him too.
