Yea that sounds like a nice idea. Just so you know where they are based at. Good idea.

Also Grays of Westminster IS THE BEST NIKON SHOP EVER!!! I've been there and it's

Go down stairs and there is sooooo much 2nd stuff. Gold Nikon 35mm camera anyone?!?

can someone update the first post with added links please

Sorry if I am cluttering this thread,

For example with this site, Ffordes - www.ffordes.com

Is it genuine, as im new to this however looking at tthe prices of some used cameras, they seem very cheap...

Thanks, Josh

Ffordes provide an excellent service and they have a great reputation. I haven't used them myself for a while, but there are plenty of good references on the net.

There's a couple of threads around which suggest problems with www.photography247.co.uk .Maybe they should be removed from the list in the original post or put a reference to the threads so that people are aware that there may be an element of risk.

This site has to be the mother of all sites.

i know charles eagles well - the guys in there are always helpful - is getting stuff mailed ok, or do you guys like to into the local store to buy?

This is a great list, some great prices out there, just need to get the funds :)

I would suggest however that, due to recent sad events AJPurdy be removed from the original list.

AJ Purdy are no more, according to their website :(

Can we remove A J Purdy, it has entered 'voluntary liquidation' - oh dear...

got to say thanks to this list i have picked up a bargain!

Harrison cameras www.harrisoncameras.co.uk they have a 2nd hand section based in sheffield.

Harrison Cameras also sell on fleabay. I've bought from them several times, and when there was a problem once, they were completely honourable.

I've just checked over a 2nd-hand lens from Ffordes. The surround of the rear element was marked which led me to finding that it's completely loose. I guess the lens has been serviced to remove dust, but if it's been done in such an amateurish way I don't want it, so back it goes on Monday.

I'm getting fed up with having to foot the bill for returning items to dealers. This includes misdescribed new items; I'm not being over-critical about 2nd-hand gear.

Edit: just now packing it up and writing the note to enclose, and whaddyaknow: the serial number has been removed. :nono:
