VR Lenses

Hi guys, just about to purchase my first DSLR (Nikon D60) just wondering if there is a big difference in the 18-55mm lenses and the same 18-55mm VR lenses?

The lenses are pretty much identical, save for the VR feature. It's not really necessary on something like an 18-55 kit lens, but if there's not much of a difference price-wise then it's still worth having..
 
Bought my brother a D60 with the 18-55 vr lens 3 weeks ago and it is superb. Very sharp and the VR works making it possible to shoot without tripod in low light. I have no experience of the non vr version, although i do have the 18-70 non vr. The 18-55 vr is superior to this lens imo.

Doesn't the D60 come with the VR lens anyway :thinking:? Or are you buying used?

(EDIT: OK, I just checked the Nikon website and since they dropped the D40 and D40X, I see that they offer three different D60 kits now. Sorry)!
