Had a couple of days at this event, weather was grey a lot of the time. Also had a bash at some video with the 7D, I need to do a bit more work on this I think.

I hate it when my own threads get no comments Ken, so here goes.
Im not keen on number 1. Theres a lot of reflections on the loco, and the signal post is distracting.
I rather like number two. Id be tempted to crop off some of the grass on the left side. I'd also have half a mind to clone out that GPL (but thats probably just me!)
Number 3 I'm really not sure about. It could be a nice shot, but I think its spoilt by the guys head out of the window. I think I might also have been tempted to wait till the guy on top of the tender was standing closer and adding water (I presume thats what he was doing?)

I think it looks better when there is some space for the loco to move into rather than crop he grass on the left, the same with the ground signal, it is part of the railway scene so for me it should stay. These things are of course a matter of personal taste. I would have preferred the guy to remove his head, but you can wait for ages for that, and then miss the shot altogether as they invariably never move!

A few more, and I've also finishged part two of the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zWAITUTZ64

Any shot with an S&D 7F featured gets my approval - thanks for posting Ken!
Don't think there is much wrong with #2 (Black 5) of the first set; as you say it needs the space to the left for the loco to 'move' into - great shot.

Whenever I go to the Bluebell I can always without fail guarantee someone will be hanging out of the first carriage window behind the loco... Very frustrating for the photographer!
