A friend has asked me to look out for her to buy a compact camera to take on holiday.

She has a budget of £100.00 and wants a big screen can nyone recommend me one please that would fit this criteria.

I think the problem is Briony is that pre £100 compacts are fairly run of the mill these days and there won't be much to choose from any of the ones currently on offer regardless of make - they'll all take perfectly acceptable pictures. The best thing your friend could do is to pop into Jessops or Currys or somewhere similar and find one that she feels comfortable with both in looks and feel.
 
We picked up a Panasonic Lumix compact earlier this year and have been pleased with the results - was slightly more than your budget (was on offer @ £130 ish). (y)
