Not the best shot in the world but it serves the purpose. It looks like a Bee but I'm more curious about the weird orange lump on the leg. I saw a few bees with these and some had one on each rear leg whilst others only had 1 and some Bees had none.

Are they some new kind of Bee accessory to make them look snazzy?

Its a bee (possibly a mason bee) and thats its pollen collection on its leg :D

Never really noticed it before but I guess I don't see that many Bees generally! Mostly other types of flies or damn dirty wasps :/

Yeah, it's where the average bee store it's pollen that it's collected while it's on the move. What sort of childhood did you have? I noticed this at a very tender age! :exit:

Can't say I've ever spent much time looking at regular Bees much :p I've seen loads of Bumblebees but I've never noticed them doing this? Same for Wasps and other flappy things... Never noticed them doing it?

Clearly my school didn't devote enough time to Bee studies!

I know what you mean Etienne. I've learnt so much since taking up macro photography! It's like I get a second go at childhood ;)
