It didn't stay for more than a few seconds, so only one close-up shot in haste amongst the branches (drat!). I'm pretty convinced its a Willow- and not a Marsh Tit, but please correct me if I'm wrong....

Thanks for looking - C&C always appreciated,

Russ

Lovely capture Russ ... I'm definitely no expert but looking at my book, the colour under the wings and lack of white in the wing feather would suggest a Marsh Tit, but I could well be wrong :)

Thanks Roger :) - I'm just not sure; with my limited reading of my books on the subject, I'd need to see the two species side by side for a true comparison.

They are so similar, it's very difficult.

Would have said a Willow Russ, only because the black on the cap seems to rise up towards the back, but has been said, its a hard one, a nice shot by the way.

I cannot tell them apart, but I can tell its a cracking photo :)

Nice and sharp and a little fluffed up against the cold.

Shame about the brach over its tail, but they are always hiding behind things :)

Dave.
