Just been looking through some shots from last years holiday in Australia and found these shots of Melbournes Xmas decorations. It seemed odd at the time to see shops decked out for Christmas with clear blue skies and 30+ degree temperatures.

What they lack in snow they certainly exceed with effort, looks wonderful.

It would probably confuse me too much to be surrounded by Xmas decorations and music, while suffering from high temperatures and geting sunburn :D

The stars look like some sort of parade, but the xmas tree is amost surreal surrounded by sun and blue sky (and typically for Oz very tacky).
 
I think the tree looks modern and would imagine that a Nordman Fir would look pretty poor, rather quick.
 
Just that I don't think it looks tacky...:shrug:.....was there something else I missed?....... speak slowly and clearly I am only a simple Highlander. :D :p
