Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Hi Chris, I'll start things off with the first two.

Number one.
You've separated the subject from the background well, using a narrow depth of field. For a stronger composition, you could have placed the meerkat off centre, because he's looking to the right there needs to be more space on that side, so about a third of the way in on the left would be good. You could also have turned the camera to portrait framing, again with more space to the right. Good effort though.

Number Two.
Well the obvious thing here is the tails are cut off! Also try and get used to looking out for distractions in the frame, e.g. in the top right corner. Just crop a little further in to get rid of that one, or clone it out.

Remember, practice, practice, practice! Keep up the good work,
regards
dave
