Your thoughts on these: My Friends dog

Best of a bad situation.

It was hot so the dog never put his tongue away and the rapeseed field turned out to be a butter cup field so I didn't get what I hoped.

They don't seem to work for me but I don't know why.

The foreground despite being out of focus is a bit distracting on the second image though. Particularly by the dogs ear.

The foreground in 2 is really distracting for me.

I like the pose in 1 but it looks like the light was really harsh. I think you did well to get what you did but the dogs face is a bit too bright for me, the background is lovely though!

They're both a bit over exposed which makes the dog looked washed out.
A bit of a tweak to the to the levels and a slight adjustment to colour saturation will bring them up a treat.
A tighter crop on the second would help it no end as well.
