Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for all the replies. I had initially thought it was the exposure compensation, but it wasn't. I figured it out in the end - the exposure had been set whilst in manual mode by the rear wheel. All working fine again now. Thanks once again!

Any tips on buying a used camera? I'll due whatever due dilligence I can to assess the reputation of the seller, but what about things like actuations? How do I verify this, and how many is acceptable? Anything else to look out for in this area?
