Thanks for the feedback everyone. Post processing is definitely a weak point for me so it's very helpful to hopefully improve. I might have another go at this one and see if I can strike the right balance.

Just downloaded a new photo editing programme (Affinity), so I have been going through and re-editing some of my past photos. I think this one has turned out quite well, especially now when I compare to the original version. I am kicking myself that I didn't retain the RAW files from this trip...

Nice shots - I've been trying to spot a short eared owl at my local reserve (Farlington Marshes) for bloody ages and haven't managed to get any photos of them at all!

Thanks, I have the RAW files so I will try to give the heavily shadowed ones a lift- I was just mindful of not washing the images out and retaining the nice winter lighting

Managed to get my first shots of Red Kites this weekend. They've always annoyed me, as I see them flying low all the time whilst driving, but never when I'm out with my camera. Luckily I saw quite a group of kites flying nice and low yesterday, and the light was really good at times. Red Kite...

That's a great set, the portrait work is lovely! The black and white conversion is very nice too, something I'm trying to improve on at the moment.
