    Not sure of those 2 makes but I'm more than sure what ever you choose you'll have a lot of fun, i currently use a b+w 10 stopper

    Imho the tutors a fool for suggesting that, nothing wrong with the d90 and has some good gadge that you wont find on the d3000, namely the top lcd screen and a better layout of click wheels and buttons!
