    Having to start over again

So I've finally heard back from the insurance company and they've gone for a cash settlement which works for me as now I can get buying some new equipment.

    Having to start over again

Yeah still have the 100-300mm f4. I will no doubt sell that soon though. Went into my local camera shop to try the D500, wow, that camera is impressive. The iso performance is very very good and the button layout is perfect for me. My 100-300mm f4 worked very nicely with the D500 aswell...

    Having to start over again

Thanks everyone. It's good to know Nikon and Canon are much of the same so I'll stick with Nikon then. Won't go any other brand as the lenses tend to be more expensive as not as popular so will stick with Nikon then. Will have a look at the D500 but the D750 looks good, as does the D850. I do...

    Having to start over again

This will be paid for me once the insurance has paid me out. Will most likely be buying second hand again to get the most for my money. Need to double check the insurance paperwork but I'm pretty sure it's what I paid for the equipment, not the current value which should help. I haven't...

    Having to start over again

So on my recent trip to Vancouver, my camera bag was stolen along with the majority of my kit. So having to look at buying all my gear all over again. Now the question is, do I stick with Nikon or change to Canon. I used to own the following: Nikon D300 Sigma 10-20mm Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 Nikon...

Advice on ND filters for Landscape Photography

Awesome. Thank you. 6 stop is looking like the way to go. Those Kase filters do look really good. Didn't realise about the spacers being needed so that's handy to know.

My first attempts with a tracking mount

Very nice shots. But as has been suggested, set your black & white points. It will make a massive improvment. See this link for a good way of setting them. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dX8YsJX1ko

    Super Blood Moon Composite.

I spent most of my time fiddling with settings and working in Photoshop so I didn't sit back and look at the moon with my own eyes much. Was an incredible sight though.

    Super Blood Moon Composite.

I've updated the first post with the information and settings used. There will be more blood moons before then, the one in 2033 is a super blood moon.

At first the autofocus was spot on, then I nudged it and had to manually focus as light was dropping. I'm using a cam ranger so it's easy to check focus from a test shot.

    Super Blood Moon Composite.

I was checking the Times and thought it might have been too light. I just couldn't stay up any longer. Did you get the entire eclipse start to finish?

Thanks all. I do feel pretty tired and cold now lol. Nod, I know it's only the first half. Couldn't stay up for the entire show I'm afraid.
