I've been using mine for around a year now on a series of safaris and the results have been a treat. The only downside is that if the creature you've been waiting for decides to show up at dusk you're not going to get such good results. Or any!
It is heavy, but stick it on a strap and only lift...
It's confusing as the download page says 'Firmware Version 1.2.1 is for cameras with firmware Version 1.2.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.2.1, it is not necessary to update the firmware' but mine is on 1.1.2.
Do I update or not? I suspect not.
The rubber zoom ring on my wife's Sigma 18-250 Macro lens has suddenly become very loose and effectively useless. Anyone able to suggest a supplier for a replacement?
Delivery in 1 to 3 months but at that price I can wait (I'm looking at getting it for a South American trip in September) and cancel if the price drops elsewhere in the meantime. Sold and supplied by Amazon.
I went to use mine after not using it for a few weeks and the battery was flat despite being fully charged when I last used it. I didn't have this happen with my 5D3.
I'm tearing my hair out in trying to photograph some of my wife's paintings which are in frames and behind glass. Is there any realistic expectation of avoiding any reflections?
I'm using a Canon 5D4 with a Canon 24-105.
I didn't dispute your experience. I simply commented on mine, which is based on many flights and many airports (including LHR) on six out of the seven continents. Bags have, of course, been checked but never specifically for batteries.
