Thanks for the feedback.
The cat was very nervous and sadly I had disturbed it after the first shot. The second was really just a grab shot. I had very good light for both shots and the doorway made an excellent frame.
And yes, it's a pity about the dogs ear.
Meet Gash the Cat. He is a stray who hangs out at Press On Dry Cleaning, next door to our studios in Chorlton. He seems to be a good guard cat! He is so named because when the proprietors of the dry cleaning business met him, he had a nasty cut all the way along his side. As you can see, he is...
TY for the feedback.
Here's another edit:
Reem - Mid Shot 2 by Daniel Cadden Photo, on Flickr
I think the skin thing is probably because I'm rushing the edits... using surface blur to soften skin and a high pass filter at the same time to sharpen details. Should probably be more selective...
First couple of images edited from a shoot last night:

Still lots more to come from this shoot. The...
James,
Thank you for your feedback too.
In the original shot the cyclist was fairly central to the frame. I've broken quite a few 'rules' on composition with this work just because I'm a contrary bu$$er.
Here's another cycling/panning shot:
The Journey 29 - Flat by Daniel Cadden...
Thanks to you all from the feedback.
Really they are all grab shots.. I was in the vicinity not to take photos but to hand out flyers. (Glamorous!)
They are all taken using a D200 and a Nikkor 18-105 - so not very flash kit.
It's visitors queuing up to watch a Graduation ceremony. I...
Hi Matt,
Enjoyed those. Wonderful crisp sharpness. My favourite is between 1 & 3.
I'm no expert on this type of photography so hard for me to say anything constructive, except to say they look perfectly sharp where they orta be.
:)
I've been in the vicinity of Manchester Oxford Road for most last week and this week. I don't really do 'street' photography, but here's some of what I've captured - in no particular order:

Wow!!! I watched the vid and I'm blown away, I think it's great work.
Watching it as a Dad, although part of me found it nauseating* I also found myself with tears streaming down my face.
*Only because the processing, editing and presentation for me seem overly sentimental and I'm not really a...
I spent most of today training an intern at a local company in product and PR photography. I was allowed to grab a couple of shots whilst I was there. I know the processing I've applied here aren't going to be everyones cup of tea, but here are two I thought I would share:
My second favourite...
Dave, click on them!
I'd have said #2 is deliberately overexposed, which is reflected in it's histogram which has very few tonal values on the dark side and some clipped highlights. It was taken after sunset, hence you can see the reflections of all the light sources in the water. The intent was...
On New Years Day 2012 I visited Salford Quays and took this shot of MediaCityUK:

Today I popped back there and whilst teaching one of my clients how to take a panorama, I took this:

Not sure where the 250% comes from.
Besides, many smaller retailers use Amazon anyway.
I've been to a lot of Jessops stores and although there's some variation I've had much better experience of using them then say Halford's for cycling stuff or PC World for computer stuff.
Hi..
70-200 f/2.8 fast enough/long enough on a full frame body?
I've a 1.4x TC I can use but of course that reduces the effective aperture.
I'm shooting in Sheffield.. potentially a series of Ice Hockey tournies.
I've got a gig this weekend shooting Ice Hockey.
Not something I've done before .. plenty of outdoor sports (football/rugby). I'll be using a D700 and possibly a D300s - although i suspect the venue will be a bit too dark for the latter.
Any hints/tips from the seasoned sports pros...
