What am I supposed to do, Lie ?

I am always honest and blunt (I could blame my aspergers but I know I am doing it so can't fully blame it!) If you ask for my opinion you get it although I would be clear it is my opinion. They like the photos so that is the only thing that matters here and my opinion would be more around the...

    NEVER listen to Ken Rockwell

There is a right answer to RAW or JPG. You use the format that best suits the circumstances (and have the knowledge to make the decision) Far too reasoned to get controversy and hits to a website of course....

Street Photography - Ever been confronted?

I just use a Ricoh GRD IV, set on snap focus at 2.5M and around f5.6 Due to small sensor and widish lens it is difficult not to have things in focus. With practice you get to the point where you don't really need to even look at the screen to take shots and know the framing, hold the camera...

    Using Raw

That may explain a few things. I had to use that once as the Raw format from a camera made it compulsory a the time. I would not have shot raw if I had to use SilkyPix. As long as Apple supports the makers raw version then for me using raw is no harder or easier than using JPEG. Files load...

    Royal Mail/Cameras/Lithium Batteries.

From a customer perspective, again DPD is way better than all the others. They are making use of technology available which is good for them (less wasted time on redeliveries) and the customer (as I know in advance what day the parcel is coming and can reschedule it before they even attempt...

    Royal Mail/Cameras/Lithium Batteries.

Matches my experience. I buy a lot of stuff (too much time on the internet!) and if I could choose which courier was to be used it would be Royal Mail first, closely followed by DPD. Only Royal Mail first because the collection office for missed deliveries is on my way to work and not in an...

    Why mirrorless sales are disapointing

It can be a nice place for those that are. My £60 DSLR and £100 prime are all I have and all I need

    Royal Mail/Cameras/Lithium Batteries.

Up to you if you would rather use someone else just because someone asks you what you are sending (wonder what dodgy items you don't want to tell people about?) but for me I like the Royal Mail as they have hundreds of places to take the parcel to and I don't care what they charge as I charge...

    Royal Mail/Cameras/Lithium Batteries.

If you have read the official Royal Mail blurb then you have no worries about what she will say as you are sending a 'legal' parcel --> http://www.royalmail.com/personal/help-and-support/Tell-me-about-Restricted-Goods I always get asked what is in the parcel and they have the right to ask so...

    Is photography fun?

So if I don't put my bins out I die? If I don't mow the law I die? Where is the goal or the reward in either of those activities? I do them because I feel they need to be done but am no motivated about it nor do I get a reward from it. Sometimes we just do things because they need to be...

    Is photography fun?

Loads of people voluntarily do stuff they don't enjoy, but get your point.

    Is photography fun?

Yes, overall I enjoy it but there are many, many times when I wouldn't say it was fun. Not everything has to be fun in life though does it, it is nice if it was but I have to do all sorts of things that are no fun at all. It helps to be a bit of a self flagellationist...

    Is photography fun?

Not all the aspects of the hobby may be fun. I cycle and I like to cycle fast and I suppose I find it fun in beating other people. To be able to do that requires training (to the point of being sick at the top of a climb for example), riding in zero degrees and so on which can be anything but...

    Good walk about prime

Anything between 24 - 40 (on crop sensor) works for me as a walkabout prime. A 50 doesn't work for me as more times than not seem to be too zoomed in and forever walking backwards to get the right framing.
