4K UHD TV Owners advice please.

Bzz. Wrong. Very Wrong. Unless you happen to spend all day watching antique repeats and imports.... Everything Sky produces in-house is 1080i and has been for years. The days of random dodgy upscaleing went in 2011 when Sky Studios opened, and opened their first HD studio in 2005 (now...

    Geting the White Balance right

Define what you mean by "right" white balance... (it isn't as obvious as it sounds unless you are shooting white objects, in which case its trivial in Post...)

    ND Filters which one?

If you want to go to the silly end, and try 10-stop filters, try this one : http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DNCO0L2 At £50 quid can't fault it (no obvious colour casts etc) - Have to be careful when screwing it on not to disturb focus though, but I've never really got on with drop-in filters...

    Renting lens for Airshow

I'm no expert at airshow photography, but I took a 70-200 and 300 to Shoreham last year (one on each body) - where I was able to get right down near the front without too many heads in the way (...good luck with that at RIAT...), and took about the same number of photos on each... looking...

    Perfect Effects 9.5 FREE!!!!!

Thankyou.... :ty:managed to get version 9.5 for free from above link without difficulty - I previously had version 8 from an earlier offer, so its a useful upgrade... but it still doesn't really do much more than a collection of Lightroom presets. Dfx is much more useful, but...that isn't free...

    Nikon D800

Stand back a few feet? Or walk around with a 24mm if you know you are going to be shooting in your face... There really is no comparison between cropping on d800 and any previous camera. Especially at the real-world web resolution that 99.999999999%of photographs end up as. the 24-70 is a big...

    Nikon D800

For the same money as an old D700 + 24-70 you can get a new D800+50mm 1.4 instead of 2.8. Far less weight to lug about. Better focusing in the dark. Just crop. For low light it's a no brainer.

    Nikon D800

No. He's being ridiculous. The d800 is perfectly usable hand held (and without VR), I thought all that had been knocked on the head months ago (along with"diffraction makes shooting above f/11 impossible" and other FUD....)

    Nikon D800

My uber (a year ago...) computer has no problem with the D800 files, process them just as quick as D700 files (core i7, 16gb ram, SSD drive, files store on NAS). My laptop struggles like a dog when given them, but then again...it is 5 years old core2duo with 4gb ram and a slow hard disc! Files...

    Nikon D800

What is there to say about it that you haven't already read in a million reviews already? Yes the resolution / cropping is insane (my test shot no. 1 had a reflection of me in my dogs eye...!) Just like the d700 to use except with some slight improvements You wouldn't want to shoot sport with...

OLED equipped cameras and low light shooting.

You could try some gel ND filter in front of the EVF to drop the level down? No idea how easy it would be to fit though (sticky tape of some sort to make a fold down flap ?) but it's a no cost solution... If you aren't in a rush pm me address and I'll post you some.

My new birding set up (thanks to TP)

Good luck...all the long Nikon lenses seem to be made of unobtanium at the moment (even for ready money)

    NIKON D4 announced

Much to my surprise, the D4 is now showing as "in stock" at a number of retailers, now all Nikon UK need to do is to reverse their blatent price gouge - bet they won't until after the Olypmics though!
