I managed to get it working. I had to reformat the card in the camera. There must have been something on there which the card firmware wasnt liking.
The card seems to work but I cant do much more without registering it which will wipe my friends data so I am not going to do that. It works in...
I have a Canon 600D and I have borrowed a friends eye-fi pro x2 card and I cannot get it to work.
I put it in my camera and set it to store raw+jpeg and took a photo so there was data on the card. The display shows the wifi symbol and 'off'. If I go into the settings and then the eye-fi...
I had a look at the reviews as I was considering getting it as a second backup camera. The sx40 was well regarded and the sx50 got good reviews. Such a large zoom range will never be as good but what it suffered from most was CA beyond about half zoom. That's good as its the easiest distortion...
Good wireless ones like the Yale are very good. They are virtually maintenance free just needing battery changes every year or two. The main unit and external bell box (if you have the solar charging type) need batteries changed every 5 years or so but they won't be more than about £20
The discharge time would be a better indication. When charging you don't know what the charger is doing. If the temperature sensor in the battery is off for example then it might be charging more slowly giving a false impression the battery is better than it really is.
That shouldn't be the case. You can monitor the SMART information on the drive and it will indicate the remaining life of the drive based on rated write and read cycles.
They also tend to fail in read only mode and the drive itself will map out these and give another sat on the amount of free...

I don't mind building my own and that is what I did with my current desktop. I am not sure you get a better deal doing it that way any more. I am not going to be over clocking or water cooling it so don't need any specific components.
I currently have a 4 year old Dell laptop and although it has a dedicated graphics card its only a mobile version and its struggling playing some less graphics intensive games and mostly it seems to be the CPU maxing out.
So I am looking to replace my very old desktop as I tend to use my ipad...
I have the carry speed strap which is very good. I like the bracket which doesn't have to be removed when using a tripod and the second clip to support the camera when it's attached to a large lens.
If you did have the feature it would only work when shooting in jpeg mode I would guess. My 600d has very basic editing but not when shooting in raw.
If you are shooting in raw what are you using to process? If you have Lightroom then it's easy to paint the area you want in b&w and then reduce...
How well does it work though?
I can imagine if you are doing it on a beach for example and there is a boat with some blue on it then you could have issues. It's difficult choosing the threshold. Much better to do it in post processing so it comes out exactly how you want it to.
