Great set of pics Glen, & nice to catch up once again guessing you'll be at Thruxton? Hope you didn't get to burnt as it was bloody scorching stood at Stirlings on Saturday.Keep going back to #2 & #6 fantastic shots
Fantastic set, looks like you'll be hooked on getting a big prime:D You've done very well with these as a 500mm is not the easiest of lenses to use especially when trying to pan a motorcycle at 120mph:clap:Have viewed these full size on your flickr page and they are all spot on:thumbs:Was great...
Thanks Spike....The sun was thankfully right overhead in both these shots & not reflecting back off the catch fencing.
Cheers Samuel, I'm a bit lucky as I have all the kit you need for shots like these.I have a choice between a 1d mk4 or 7d which also gives great options for cropping & all...
A nice set of photos given the circumstances.I to had some issues but I must say the men at G4S are very nice & I was not doing anything wrong.....they just got confused as to why I had a bigger lens than the media togs & I got invited into an out of bounds area, before getting kicked out...
Great set as always & very nice to see some wide shots:thumbs:I think I'll stuff my 24-105 in the bag more often after seeing what opportunities I missed .I aint even gone through my shots from the weekend, got home late on Mon then had Tues at home, Wed/Thur I was at the Great Dorset Steam...
A bit of a pain especially for the GP.You are at best 40-60ft from the track behind 10ft high catch fences & then there are the no go areas like the infield section which I found out to my cost on Friday:lol::lol::lol:.Anything less than a 400mm is a real struggle.
#1,#4 & #10 are spot on well done, would have gone for a tight crop on Brad as it looks a sharp shot, recon you'd have got away with a 3/4 crop focusing on the centre of the bike.
Fantastic shot of Bradl.I can't imagine MotoGP without Rossi, I can remember watching him on a 125:eek: & he still had a queue of fans chasing after him then:lol:
Hi & welcome to the forum, for the kit you have the results are pretty good & it looks like you have a level of basic photography to be able to move on.If you intend to photograph mainly motorsport then I would recommend a body upgrade to a 7d, its what I use as a spare body but I end up using it...
:plusone:
he is dead right, it also will depend on you choice of lens aswell.I use a 500mm F4 prime & if I tried panning at anything less than 500th of a second shutter speed I'd be binning 99% of my shots but with a 70-200 at lets say 250th then I'd be keeping 99%.
Ok a few more for G4S:lol:
