    WBMT.....What baffled me today

    Urbanisation does it, the rain no longer soaks into the ground, lands on roads, pavements etc and goes into the drainage systems and straight into the local rivers, which in a lot cases can't cope, hence chances of flooding.

    Used a pantograph extensively in my early apprenticeship days with the NCB converting odd scaled plans and local maps to Ordnance Survey standards.

    Is that what we call 'clootie dumpling', my mate's mum used to steam one the size of a football every Sunday so it could be sliced for her 'man's piece box'. Lovely grub if you could get a bit. My mum's speciality was panacalty.

    Our Green Shield redemption shop became Argos. School milk small bottles had a waxed cardboard top and a straw sized pop out centre. Collected them for craft class, wrapped raffia round, stitched them together to create placemats, teapot stands etc. Early 50s school days. Collecting NHS baby...

    I use Asda for exact same purpose. Sim card was free. Top-up via card, ATM, phone or in store.

    Best Glue for plastic?

    Sticking plastic is difficult, however check out Speedy fix, Q-bond or Plastex on YouTube. They are basically super glue and baking soda or baby powder. Prices vary from £5 to £30+. Google is a good friend.

    Depends how much you want to spend. An X-hose could be your solution. No kinks, check out You Tube for demo. Available Argos, B&Q etc. About £50 for 100ft.
