This is absolutely bang on. He is so under-appreciated as a musician, because nobody can see past his personal problems. He's a lyrical genius. An absolute poet, and neither me or my work buddy can argue with your rating of him a single bit. I would be interested to know how much of his back...

What type of bee am I?

It's a mining bee of some sort. Andrena sp. Lots of different species in the UK, and not always easy to identify the specific one. You could make a start here though: http://www.gardensafari.net/english/mining_bees.htm :) And I agree with Matt, lovely shot.

    Oy you up there!

Pretty sure it's a nettle weevil. Nicely caught. :) I like the BG too. Is it artificial? I've been meaning to try bringing my own backdrops with me when I'm photographing insects.

Pulitzer Prize 2012. Warning may upset some people

The comments about him shooting first and not helping out are quite interesting. I was involved in a terrorist incident in Egypt when I was about 12. Our tour coach was bombed, and quite a few people were very badly injured (no deaths, thankfully). I was fine, and had my disposable camera with...

    Chaffinch Caught on Camera

:D Suppose I should explain things a bit more. I'm not blessed with the patience that a lot of you bird photographers are, sadly. I set the Coronet up on my balcony, with a few bits of seed on the bellows, then sat patiently in my hide (sofa), whilst watching nature programmes on telly. It was...

    Does Anyone Do Origami?

 That will be lovely at the wedding. The folding of the cranes won't be though. Once you've learned to make one it stars to get a bit boring. Then add another 999. :( It's be worth it in the end though, no question. :)

    National Cleavage Day

This thread is amazing. I've not finished reading it yet, but for it to actually develop into a serious discussion, given the thread title, is just staggering. Love it.

    Does Anyone Do Origami?

I completely forgot I posted this thread. Maybe it's an annual thing that I do. Dave, I think the design I posted is inflatable, if you blow into the rear-end, but who wants to put a frog through that? :D A few recent attempts. Semi-failed heffalump. Bild Woar: Ratty:

    Rude people while shooting :(

Yep! Although I've seen a fair few riding around on the pavement. Perhaps, similar to our right to take photies in public, a lot of police aren't aware of the law. There is just no escaping the fact that they do look ridiculous. :D

    Rude people while shooting :(

I suspect he's referring to riding a Segway. They're not road legal, because they're not approved by the powers that be for registering for the road, but being a motor vehicle, nor are they legal to ride on pavements. The only place they can be used is on private property, with permission of...

    edit or non edit??

I suspect it's more a case of how one defines "right in camera". Can't I do both? It's very rare I go out with the camera to shoot a landscape without having a particular shot in mind, and having planned my timing so the light should be right. If the light isn't right for whatever reason...

    Macro Photography

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding this, but I use the Raynox on my 70-300, which usually focuses on subjects less that 1.5m away. With the Raynox attached it focuses on subjects just a couple of inches away. http://500px.com/photo/5576063 It doesn't autofocus well at all, but I'm not sure many...
