    Faux vintage wedding pics

I just don't see why vintage has been pointed out as fad, photography is literally made of fads, trends and cliches. I have always followed the idea that photography can either create fantasy or record reality. If the final intended result is realism, to capture the scene as we saw it in...

    Faux vintage wedding pics

I'll chip in here, even though I'm exactly the type of photographer your talking about. As soon as I was able to post process, I have always processed on the side of softer, less contrasty and a more "film like" aesthetic. Not that I know what film looks like, I've shot 3 rolls in my life...

iPhoto Face recognition - export this metadata to Lightroom?

Not sure there is an easy way todo what you want. If you were doing iPhoto to aperture, the yes the faces data would copy across. Pretty sure LR doesn't even have a face detection system in it. If you could get that metadata out of iPhoto, there's no way way for LR todo anything with it...

Camon mark II lens pinch caps

Only place I have seen them is on Digital rev. Still pricy though

    35mm

I know of a few wedding photographers who shoot 85% - 95% of the day with a 35mm 1.4 pretty successfully. Personally, I couldn't do everything with a 35mm no matter how much I love that focal length. 35 & 85 works well, or 35, 50, 135mm also

Choosing the photos for a wedding album

Agree 100%. Good album design is a skill. Just as much as taking the images. What sort of business wouldn't want demonstrate their expertise to the client and use as another USP? If I were looking for a wedding photographer, I'd go with the one who could be bothered to take the photos and...

    How to achieve this style?

It's all done using split toning and curves in Lightroom. Have a mess about and experiment until it looks right! :)

    Canon: The Single Red Ring

Well that I know of, the 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.2 and 135mm are not sealed. Only the newer MKII primes have weather sealing. The 50mm f1.2 requires a filter to be sealed.

    Canon: The Single Red Ring

Nope, not true. Some of the fast 1.4 / 1.2 primes aren't.

    PANAMOZ.

Before their Chinese New Year break I contacted them for an invoice for a canon 35mm f1.4. I heard nothing for a few days, then after several emails I finally had a response saying the they are now out of stock and don't know when they will get anymore. Weird thing is still shows as in stock...

    Sigma 35mm 1.4

Hey, Has anyone used the both the sigma and canon 35mm's 1.4's? Any thoughts on how the autofocus and build quality compares? Reviews are pretty conclusive that the sigma is sharper and cheaper than the L, but I'm still deliberating between them both.... :) Thanks

    Legislation for gay marriage

But making money from "traditional" or non-same sex marriages if fine, right? Hypocrisy much? The wedding industry in the UK is worth billions, regardless of your sexual orientation. There will just be more couples going forward who need photographers, DJ's and flowers etc. It's good news...

tv licence or no tv licence

Why not ditch the tv all together....that's what I did. Never anything on anyway. Once you stop watching tv, you don't see the ads. If you don't see the ads, they you don't know what you are missing. It's been at least a year since I watched tv. Would love to add up how many extra hours I...
