If this is for your Nikon, I had the AF-S 50mm 1.4 on a D700 and loved it - it only came off the camera for landscapes (Nikon 20mm) or macro (Nikon 105mm).

I'd look at the Microsoft Surface - either a Core i5 Surface 2 or the newly announced Core i3 Surface 3 - both are around the £600 mark.
Use an external USB3 drive for a local RAW copy (or full size JPEG) and use the on-line backup for your processed JPEGS - you should be spending more time...

I did have a crop of just the two rows of seats, but it took out the great colours on the left that I felt balanced the image quite well - now it's been pointed out it does suit a more 3:2 composition.
