    Female Kingfisher

First trip out for 2023. We all know how hit/miss the weather has been but luckily it was sunny all morning so had to get out. It seems so quiet bird wise at the moment? However it made my day seeing 2 female kingfishers. Taken with Z9, 600F4 FE with 1.4 TC. Kingfisher (Alcedinidae) by Ed...

Thanks Steve. If weather stays like this and Shrike is still around I’d like to go back.

    Trip To Bempton Cliffs

Thank you for the comments. It was definitely worth the 3 hour drive and hoping to go back again before the gannets migrate. There are a number of trails which I'll definitely walk next time. Sparrows were really tame and saw quite a few linnets.

    Trip To Bempton Cliffs

Took a trip to Bempton Cliffs a couple of weeks back. Nearly turned back as it chucked it down but upon arrival the sun came out. An enjoyable day and lots of action. Gannet, Tukenstan Red Tailed Shrike, Tree Sparrows and a chance to try out the Z9 and 600F4 in good weather. Gannet (Morus...

    Another Short Eared Owl Post

Thanks for the comments all. @pooley - Thank you for your constructive criticism, much appreciated. Your edits do bring out the detail and have to say better than mine :) I use a colormunki to calibrate both macs of mine. I went to photograph shorties again today. I'm still yet to get a shortie...

    Another Short Eared Owl Post

I've travelled over 500miles and what walked what feels like 500 more photographing short-eared owls. I still haven't got the shot I want yet (looking straight down the 500f4) but I shall persevere as there's something about short-ears that keeps on making me want more shots. I thought I'd...

Thank you for the responses, very helpful. I ended up going both Sunday/Monday just gone. Early get up on Sunday arriving at sunrise and two cars already in the carpark. Lakenheath Fen - Recommendation of areas to photograph birds please

Hi all, I'm planning (weather permitting) a trip to RSPB Lakenheath Fen over the weekend and after recommendation on areas of Lakenheath Fen where I'm likely to get a good view of birds. In particular I'm after bearded tits and bittern which have been spotted there. After going to a couple...
