Ripping a bit of the film box is/was my favourite way of keeping track of stuff and slotting it into the flash contact always seemed like a good idea. Mostly fell out. Had a real laugh reading through these posts tho'. If I had a smart phone Film Trackr would be a good idea but might kind of...
Boots in Lancaster still does instore film dev. I have been buying and testing cameras recently in an effort to find a favourite rangefinder and whilst precious shots go elsewhere I'm glad there are still there. But like a friend of mine says about pubs; if they cater just for my needs they...
Howdo
A recent discussion about first time use of film/manual had a couple of posts from (Teflon) Mike about KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) which I agree with entirely. I didn't add this post to the discussion as it's not meant to be a critique but a light-hearted continuation - so go on, what...
Well that was easier than I expected. Kits arrived last week and I replaced the old ones in the XA2 and some that had turned to goo in a 35 RC. The hardest part was cleaning out all the bits. It just needed a bit of patience. Not run a test yet but the backs on both close nice and tight whereas...
I was actually looking for light seals for an Olympus RC 35 and an internet search brought up aki-asahi.com. I added a set of XA2 seals to the order to resurrect this lovely little camera too. They were $7 each for a pack of 3 with a 5% discount for a multiple order and $4 shipping. Payment was...
Will let you know how I get on Ladybird. I only ordered them a few days ago so it may be some time before I carry out this DIY project but I don't object to sharing any leftover seals.
Just bought one of these and it has a Kodak KA625 battery. Is it a suitable battery or do I need to make any adjustments to use in automatic mode? It seems to be giving a reasonable reading based on Sunny 16.
Waiting for new light seals to arrive from Japan as I enjoy the pocketability (is that a word?) of these beauties. Looked at the Youtube vid and I'm a bit worried. I was always the one with glue up my sleeves and missing parts on these sorts of projects.Ah well, you do get three kits apparently...
That's great thanks, but have ISO/GE figures been transposed on the last table entry? Should it read ISO 400 not 820? Anyhoo, next clear bright day I will carry out the test suggested.
Just read that Weston "speed" does not is not the same as ISO but their own film rating system and whilst there are conversion charts rule of thumb is to set the "speed" to 1/3 stop lower than the film rating, so ISO 200 needs to set to a speed of 160 on the meter. This is/was for a Weston III...
No. I can't scan and Peak wisely didn't charge and provide me with the cd I confidently asked for. The bands extend all the way down so I'm guessing it's a shutter problem. I'll try a Poundland through it before I give it up as it's been reliable so far.
