I was a early Z adopter and swiftly went back to F with my tail between my legs because, being colourblind, I found it impossible to pick out the very fine red focus squares, vs the bit chunky boys on the F. Such a simple function, surely, being able to change the colour of the focus boxes, but...

Massive, massive hypothetical here, with I am sure a book for rules why it technically couldn't be done, but... Do we think Park Cameras, Wex etc. could be better off, could have better margins, buying in bulk from Panamoz, HDEW etc. and then selling on to UK consumers at cheaper than UK RRP...

Great responses. So in summary, the only concerns we collectively wrestle with on grey imports now, is the morality of tax situation, before decided to buy from Panamoz anyway :cool:

Another good point, my last parcel from Panamoz looked like it had been sent from within the UK actually - and indeed didn't hide the fact that it was a camera as it had all the Lithium Ion battery warning stickers all over it too.

This is an interesting point that’s also crossed my mind, but then you’d have to consider avoiding using Amazon, Google, Facebook, Costa, Vodafone etc. The list of companies with questionable moral stances on tax goes well beyond getting cheap cameras from Hong Kong unfortunately.

I've just done a forum search to try and see how people currently feel about Grey Imports but most of the threads are now years old. Has general opinion changed over the years? I have to say that in my experience, it has. Much of the worry seemed to be based on servicing, repairs, warranty etc...

Focus and shutter release are 2 separate parts of taking a photograph and there really isn't any reason to have them glued together with a single button. Back button focus means you can have it both ways.
