Olympus OM-D E-M10 mk II or III?

I had both at the same time until I sold my mkii last week. I'll run through the positive for the mkiii : Better autofocusing, especially in low light. Slightly better dynamic range. Nicer EVF. Better grip. Nicer menu system (But still not that great) There's a dedicated button for the quick...

Has anyone passed their driving test recently?

Passed my test two years ago, so nearly recent? Handbrake - If you've just missed the lights and you'll be waiting for awhile I was always told to apply the handbrake (even done this in the test a few times) Hillstarts - Didn't use the handbrake, as the car had hill assist. Always ready to...

    "Panasonic G series" Owners Thread

Having a quick read, it seems the GM5 got an uprated shutter and can do 1/500th with mech. I've spent the last few minutes trying to find an example of the banding but can't seem to find them. I remember I couldn't shoot in my kitchen because of the lighting. If I had a good manual lens like...

My GM1 was quite bad for banding, it was first generation silent shutter technology so comparable read out time to the G6/GX7 so rolling shutter was bad as well. Mechanical shutter only works up to 125th of a second. A few more points ; the mech shutter won't work with manual lenses (unless...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I think I was the person who sold that 20mm to you years ago! Decided to go for the Sigma 30mm 1.4. If I'm only buying one prime, it might as well be something special. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Great replies everyone. I should mention that I had the 17mm as well for a short period and never enjoyed the focal length (Notice a theme of wider primes and disappointment? I never learn). I guess it comes down to ; size - Oly 25mm, price - Pana 25mm 1.7 or performance - Sigma 30mm 1.4. I'll...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I was just watching that video before I posted, I haven't been keeping up to date with the camera market and just assumed the Sigma 30mm 1.4 would be expensive but I see one on MPB for £214, which isn't far off the Oly 25mm price. That is really tempting.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I recently returned back to M43 after years of just using a Sony RX100. I've got enough coverage from zooms but I'm looking for that one prime as the generic 'standard prime'. I used M43 from back in the Panasonic g3 era, so I've had both the 20mm 1.7 and the PanaLeica 25mm. The 20mm 1.7 is...

    Walkabout lens for Panasonic GX80

Another vote for the 14-140. Probably the best superzoom lens around, especially for the money. I sold mine for the 12-32 and 45-150 and I regretted it at the time. The only negative I found was the weight when paired with a smaller m43 body. From what i've read online, the version ii (aperture...

High-end bridge cameras: Sony RX10, Panasonic FZ1000 etc

I found the auto focus on the FZ330 to be very good. Equally as good as the Panasonic G7 in continuous. They'll never win an award but I was surprised when it tracked wasps in flight. It also tracked my puppy when running.

No matter what budget it's trying to reach, I can't understand why this would have a field sequential EVF? Panasonic must be the only company still trying to use them. It was already dated technology when I bought my brand new Panasonic G5 years ago.

I made a mistake and moved away from my Panasonics for a few months. After my 2nd m43 camera in a year decided to stop working I decided to try a Fuji set up. There's no negatives about the Fuji from me but I never felt comfortable with it. So I'm sheepishly coming back to Panasonic. I had my...

Does the GF7 come with a lens?

    Beginner Pansonic GF7 vs rx100 m3/m4

I never liked my GM1 (smaller version of the GF) as a carry everyday camera, even with the 12-32mm lens. The smaller M43 bodies are great to have with a prime when you've got a large zoom on another m43 body. The RX range was just easier to have as an everyday camera. It really depends on what...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

You could look at the Mitakon 25mm 0.95, if you risk it you could get it for £260 from HK. I was in the same situation as you last week, I decided the Panasonic 25mm 1.4 was the best option for ease and price. I felt the Sigma would only get taken out on rare occasions due to the size (roughly...
