Not quite as interesting as some of them but crashing in a straight line is quite an achievement! The result of landing a wheelie with the front brake on...

    DSLR or CSC for travel?

I bought a SX280HS specifically to go on holiday with. It goes in my pocket and means that I can get photos anywhere & I don't feel too worried about wandering through busy streets with a DSLR. I was really quite amazed about the quality that I got out of it. Saying that I wouldn't class...

    Link Delight - Questions

Same here, bought a grip and a remote timer on separate occasions, delivery time is a bit longer than usual but both were good value and worked exactly as expected. I'd use them again.

    lens and the cold,

I took my 50D into the arctic this winter and was happily using it at -25C. The remote that I was using didn't fare as well with a frozen cable and a flat battery after 20 minutes! So I think that you should be fine. Our accommodation was at a tropical -5c and I got condensation in the lens in...

Where to for your Future purchase?

I've bought from WEX before and have heard good things about Park Cameras too. I did try and spend some money in Camera World in Chelmsford a few weeks ago but the guy who was in charge when I was in there was so rude and ignorant that I just left.

    Lens selection

My default lens for wandering around with has been the 28-135mm. It's not expensive and gives a reasonable zoom length for general use. Obviously I would like the 24-105L but that might take me a while to save for!

entry level dslr's how long did you keep yours

2 years for my 450D and then moved to a 50D. Probably going to be another couple of years saving up but I really want a 7D already!

    First attempt at light trails

So after buying a new camera I thought that I should really get out of the house and do something with it. Here's the results! IMG_9937 by ninjabandit2007, on Flickr IMG_9948 (9) by ninjabandit2007, on Flickr I can see that there is more practice needed as I like the sky on the...

Canon 70-200L - IS or non IS?

I've got the same dilemma as you - the 70-200 seems to be the next purchase but not quite sure which one! Obviously I would love the mk II 2.8 IS but given the cost I'm thinking about the non IS as it's a bit more affordable and can't work out if I should get an f4 IS or a 2.8 non IS...

What camera for a complete novice?

I've had a 450d as a first camera for a couple of years and learned an awful lot. Don't necessarily need the top end cameras as a first one. Clearly now I'm looking to spend more money for an upgrade but still love my current camera. Would definitely think about buying a low usage 2nd hand one...

    Star Trail advice please

That looks really good - much better than my first attempt last night! What was the exposure length for that?
