Not quite as interesting as some of them but crashing in a straight line is quite an achievement!
The result of landing a wheelie with the front brake on...
I bought a SX280HS specifically to go on holiday with. It goes in my pocket and means that I can get photos anywhere & I don't feel too worried about wandering through busy streets with a DSLR. I was really quite amazed about the quality that I got out of it.
Saying that I wouldn't class...
Same here, bought a grip and a remote timer on separate occasions, delivery time is a bit longer than usual but both were good value and worked exactly as expected.
I'd use them again.
I took my 50D into the arctic this winter and was happily using it at -25C. The remote that I was using didn't fare as well with a frozen cable and a flat battery after 20 minutes! So I think that you should be fine.

Obviously I would love the mk II 2.8 IS but given the cost I'm thinking about the non IS as it's a bit more affordable and can't work out if I should get an f4 IS or a 2.8 non IS...
I've had a 450d as a first camera for a couple of years and learned an awful lot. Don't necessarily need the top end cameras as a first one. Clearly now I'm looking to spend more money for an upgrade but still love my current camera.
Would definitely think about buying a low usage 2nd hand one...
