I haven't posted here for quite sometime now. To be honest I haven't had much time to get out with the camera but thought I'd share with you these shots and the story that accompanies them which I still can't quite believe happened yesterday. I've been away for most of the summer and the water...
The garden set up looks good. You seem to attract a good range of species. The hummingbird like bird is most likely a purple sunbird. Outside the breeding season both male and female are a yellow and brown colour. In the breeding season the males turn a gorgeous iridescent purple all over.
iPad air with retina is a very nice option. Coupled with an Apple TV you can stream pictures to the big screen.
Limited expansion options although a wireless hard drive such as seagate go flex gives huge expansion potential
Don't bother with a 16gb iPad as it's far to constrained as a stand...

I think it's a juvenile black crowned night heron. Another possibility is a juvenile striated heron but going by the eye colour and bill shape and colour I'm more inclined to go with my first ID
