The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

How are you getting on with these new plastic notes, they remind me of the old Izal shiny bog rolls spread it around rather than wipe it off.:hungover:

Can’t make sense of gear pricing at the moment

This has happened to me too, I recently sold a pair of IS Canon binoculars to a guy in Italy via the global shipping program and got more than I paid for them three years ago. In the past I have always opted for UK sales only but if this is a typical result I will happily do it again.

    Irix 15mm f2.4 - Filters?

This thread peaked my interest as it is a lens I have been thinking about buying so I've checked it out and it does have a 95mm filter thread and Lee do an adapter to fit but only for the 150mm filter system, which I think would be better and cheaper than the type that clamp around the outside...

    Filters - just wondering

I stopped using it for a while, but couldn't get on with any of the alternatives I tried, so I went back to it , I'm sorry I can't help you with other software.

    Filters - just wondering

Well back to the original Question, do people still use filters? well I used to use them a lot but now I only use a polariser because as far as I know that is the only one you can't replicate in post.

    Monopod head for wildlife

I've been using a Manfrotto 234RC tilt head for years it moves in just one plane so doesn't flop, I never felt the need for a panning head on a monopod.

The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

This would not be a problem for me as the baseplate stays on most of the time I only remove the side plate when using the camera handheld.

Me too, the Smallrig seems good quality but makes the camera feel huge, there are some blatant copies of the RRS on eBay by Gabale which are much cheaper but I have no idea about the quality or fit, if anyone here has got one could you let us know your opinion of it.

Does stacking negate the need for wide apertures for astro?

I have just started having a go at night photography using a Tokina Firin 20mm f2 lens and so far I am quite pleased with the results wide open @ 15-20secs I have the manual version which is a very manageable size & weight , this thread got me thinking about stacking and I have been watching a...
